Role overview
The Project Manager- Power Systems Controls leads controls and power management projects from award through completion, managing cost, quality, schedule, and overall performance. Working with Sales, Engineering, and Operations, the role coordinates integrated solutions spanning system design, programming, installation, startup, maintenance, repair, training, and modifications to automated controls and power management systems.
Project Execution and Commercial Control
- Create, maintain, and regularly update schedules for assigned projects.
- Coordinate engineering resource assignments with team leaders and provide performance feedback.
- Monitor, control, forecast, and report project costs while maintaining estimated margins.
- Manage the engineering response to customer emergencies and warranty issues.
- Establish and administer contracts with customers and suppliers.
- Review customer specifications and bid documentation, issuing change orders when needed.
- Coordinate technical work across internal teams, company factories, third-party suppliers, and customers.
- Control project documents and distribute them to customers and suppliers.
Required Background and Position Criteria
- An engineering bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and at least five years of project management or project engineering experience; alternatively, a high school diploma and at least ten years of field service, project management, and/or proposal generation experience involving electrical power distribution systems.
- Experience with electrical power distribution systems, equipment, installation, and field services.
- Expertise across project management competencies, including Microsoft Project.
- Basic understanding of power distribution systems, equipment, and automatic transfer schemes.
- Experience with factory testing and field startups.
- Experience preparing technical proposals to meet customer and internal requirements.
- Willingness to undergo periodic customer-required background and drug screening.
- Successful completion of, and continued compliance with, the safety program and policy, including applicable portions of the Electrical Engineering Services & Systems (EESS) Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) program and required annual recertifications.

Work Arrangement, Pay, and Benefits
The role is designated Remote, with Houston, Texas, USA, 77040 listed as its location, and requires approximately 10% travel. It sits within Engineering and the EESS hiring program. Relocation assistance is not available.
Expected annual salary is $97,000–$143,000, with separate eligibility for a variable incentive program. The approximate 2,080-hour equivalent is $46.63–$68.75 per hour; this is a calculated comparison, not an offered hourly rate. The range is a general guideline, and actual pay depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.
