Dental assisting role
You’ll support dentists during exams and procedures while helping patients feel comfortable throughout their visit. This position also includes preparing treatment areas, documenting patient information, coordinating with office staff, and helping maintain an efficient clinical workflow.
Patient and chairside support
- Welcome patients into treatment areas and help them feel comfortable.
- Review dental care plans with patients and answer procedure-related questions.
- Take vital signs and accurately document medical histories.
- Prepare sterilized instruments and equipment for exams and procedures.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures.
- Provide attentive, high-quality patient care throughout appointments.
Clinical and office coordination
- Follow applicable health, safety, and office procedures.
- Coordinate with both front-office and back-office team members.
- Complete required computer and data-entry tasks accurately.
- Assist with additional duties needed to support daily office operations.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree from a school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
- Current state Registered Dental Assistant license.
- Previous dental assistant experience.
- Current Basic Life Support or CPR certification.
- Strong computer and data-entry skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to provide high-quality patient care in a busy, fast-paced environment.
