Production machine operator role

You’ll operate and monitor equipment used in aluminum brazing and manufacturing processes. The work includes machine setup, process monitoring, material handling, quality checks, basic maintenance, and accurate production recordkeeping in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Machine and process operations

  • Set up, operate, monitor, and maintain production equipment under supervision.
  • Operate equipment such as fin machines, washers, fluxers, and brazing furnaces.
  • Maintain required chemical concentrations in aluminum brazing equipment.
  • Apply process chemicals to products according to established procedures.
  • Load and unload units from the brazing furnace.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions throughout each production stage.
  • Record process-control measurements accurately on production logs and charts.

Quality and material handling

  • Measure parts, components, and finished products to verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Read manufacturing drawings and production documentation.
  • Move completed products between operations using pallet jacks, hand lifts, or other approved equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the assigned production area.
  • Complete required routine machine maintenance.
  • Follow ISO 9001 work instructions and established quality standards.

Skills and qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, one to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to learn production equipment and develop strong machine-operating skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand basic instructions.
  • Basic computer skills, including Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to use tools such as tape measures, calipers, drills, screwdrivers, hand pumps, and grinders.
  • Basic math and reasoning skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Safety and physical requirements

  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, and handle materials throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate machinery including saws, rotary equipment, furnaces, fluxers, and washers.
  • Ability to follow machine safety and lockout-tagout procedures.
  • Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, elevated noise levels, airborne particles, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to use near and distance vision, depth perception, and visual focus required for production work.
