Retail merchandising assignment

You’ll complete merchandising and retail support projects at assigned store locations while managing your own availability within established service windows. Typical assignments include product resets, stocking, audits, display maintenance, promotional installations, and other in-store merchandising work.

Store-level responsibilities

  • Review project instructions and client requirements before beginning each assignment.
  • Complete merchandising projects according to provided specifications.
  • Perform product resets, cut-ins, promotional installations, and display updates.
  • Remove discontinued products and outdated promotional materials.
  • Complete inventory counts and product scanning tasks.
  • Stock and organize merchandise according to planograms and merchandising standards.
  • Keep assigned displays clean, organized, and accurately presented.
  • Travel between accepted retail locations as needed.

Reporting and project completion

  • Use a smartphone or tablet to document completed work.
  • Take and submit required project photos.
  • Complete project reports and other required documentation.
  • Submit reports and photos on the same day the assignment is completed.
  • Maintain active email access for project communication and updates.

Experience and qualifications

  • Previous experience in merchandising, retail, product resets, auditing, or customer service preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow planograms and written merchandising instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort using mobile technology for project reporting and documentation.
  • Reliable transportation for travel between retail locations.
  • Smartphone or tablet with internet access.

Schedule and physical demands

  • Flexible scheduling within retailer-defined service windows.
  • Assignments are primarily completed during weekday daytime hours.
  • Typical project volume is approximately 12-20 hours per month.
  • Some locations require service during the first two weeks of each month.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
